Steve, as usual, your eye is on the target. I also prefer the Summilux 50mm f/1.4 pre-ASPH over the Voigtlander Nokton 50mm 1.1. I like the glow in your wife’s face in the Summilux shot. The Nokton shot at 1.4 seems a bit harsh. Of course, I’m a Leica man and will always favor the Leica! But, that’s not always true.

It's soft, and has awful bokeh. At smaller apertures, it's still softer than other 50mm lenses. I sold my 50mm 1.2 to buy the Voigtlander 58mm f1.4 cause I was curious and I wanted a fast lens that I could use wide open and have good image quality. The Voigtlander is really good wide open. It is so easy to shoot with it at f1.4 and you don't have to worry about images not being sharp.

The Voigtlander 50mm f/1.2 Nokton delivers a compact lens at a mere 350g weight, which is pretty light for a f/1.2 aperture. In comparison, the CV 40/1.2 E-mount weighs 410g. However, since I used the CV 50/1.2 with an adapter on a Sony body, the weight increased by about 50g which then leveled out the weight difference.
